It was a nice car, the "UGLY DUCK"  First made in 1948 in France. The production stopped not before After 1990. After a long trip, I had to check the oil level, which activity you can see on the photo. Tough girl, isn't it ??   It was really a car for young people and alternative older people. Cheap in the use of petrol, but not very fast. 90 km/h was the maximum, maybe 100 in the wake of a truck : ))  And when the weather was nice, you opened the roof of course. I remember the times we went with four girls to the beach......,well, we stole the show, I can assure you !!!             In winter when it was very cold, the car didn't start always immediately in the morning. Once I put a woolen blanket under the bonnet for the freeze night. In the morning I forgot to remove the blanket before leaving. I was surprised that my father was waving so joyfully and intensively when I left!!!!  : ) On the high road I smelled a scent of fire. At once I remembered the blanket. I stopped my car at the hard shoulder, left it car and saw that smoke came from under the bonnet. I grabbed my handbag and coat just in time, because my whole car has taken fire after that, and has been burned out. Other cars stopped at the shoulder and some had a handextinguisher and blussed the fire. Later came of course the police etc.    Fortunately the insurence agent never found any clue of the blanket and they restitute the money! ( until now it was my secret! : ))   Another time in winter I drove on a small farmerway, with beside a frozen ditch. It was very slippery and the small road was bendy. I slipped and my car tumbled down to the ditch. I braked immediately, used also my handbrake and could stop the car nearly before the ice. Pfffffff !!! I climbed with much strain out of the very skew standing car. What now?? I went to a farmhouse, knocked at the door and asked for help. That was no problem.  The farmer immediately helped and draged me out of the ditch with his tractor. A happy end!                    An "ugly duck"on fire!!               A forgotten "DUCK" overgrowed with Hedera... see the traffic sign !!!
